Enel Green Power is the company that develops and manages the Enel Group’s generation from renewable sources around the world. It currently operates in Europe, North and South America, Asia and Africa.
It is one of the world’s leading players in generation from renewables, producing 32 billion kWh per year, principally from water, the sun, wind and the earth’s heat. This is equivalent to the consumption of more than 11 million families and means that some 17 million tons of carbon dioxide emissions are avoided each year.
In 2016, Enel Green Power had an installed capacity of 10,571 MW, with 710 plants across 16 countries, and a generation mix that included eolic, solar, hydroelectric, geothermal and biomass plants.
Currently EGPC operates in Chile a portfolio of plants with a combined installed capacity of more than 1000 MW, of which 475 MW correspond to wind energy, 493 MW to photovoltaic and 92 MW to hydroelectric energy. In addition, EGPC is building Cerro Pabellón, which will have a gross capacity of 48 MW and will be the first geothermal plant in South America.
